Life’s Moments
3November 4, 2012 by IowaTriBob
I came across this on my twitter account @iowatribob and it was the first time I’ve ever marked a tweet as a favorite and the first time I’ve shared one with others.
Now I’m usually not the overly sensitive type of guy that hangs a lot on inspirational or motivational type sayings. In fact, I’m more of a rational, technical, by the numbers, white and black type of personality. However this one came across at a particularly stressful time in my life and it made me really pause for thought.
Life goes by so fast, I often fail to realize these moments until days, months, or even years after they’ve occurred. Whether it’s stepping out of the quarterback line in 6th grade because the coach said I should move over to the open lineman spot, choosing to change my first career from civil engineering to information technology, deciding to quit my job in Utah and move back to the Midwest, committing to a triathlon goal and healthy lifestyle, or making the decision to separate and move out of the house, these are all major life moments that mark the end of a chapter and a new beginning and way of life.
Some of these life changing moments have been very conscious decisions while others were barely thought through, yet each has had an equal importance on where I’m at today.
I’m sure everyone can think about moments in their lives where a decision was made or an event occurred that marked the end of a way of living and started a new beginning.
One of my goals moving forward in life is to use the lessons learned from my past experiences, as well as the experiences from those around me, and try to ensure that future life moments are recognized and always start a new beginning that’s headed forward in the right direction with great opportunity. After all, if you can’t enjoy each of these moments and the adventure along the way, what’s the point?

Exactly. Well said.
Great quote and definitely well said post!
Very cool quote. Very. Sometimes these quotes come when you least expect them and that’s what makes them even cooler.
